Inspiring Connection through Slow Gifting

What is Slow Gifting?

To me, slow gifting is...

Making gifts, purchasing handmade products or supporting local business.

Gifting books. Gifting your time. Gifting experiences. Gifting toys without batteries.

Sending gifts and letters by mail and taking the time to package gifts in simple beautiful ways.

Why I Blog

The Petit Cadeau, which is French for ‘small gift’, was born out of my JOY of interacting with other creatives and to inspire others (like you) to create as well.

I believe that a simple package, tied with string, can bring us joy. When it comes to gifting I abide by the rule of quality over quantity, and the fact that thoughtful gifts don’t necessarily have to be expensive.

I write about slow gifting, DIY gift projects, wrapping + card ideas, and gift giving inspiration in general. I aim to inspire my readers to be more thoughtful when it comes to gifting, to give handmade and to make gift packaging beautiful.

About Me - Alison Butler

Alison Butler Newfoundland

I am a part-time blogger/maker with big dreams and vision. In addition to sharing my ideas for slow gifting here on the blog, I'm joyfully running my small business, Petit Mail - story card subscriptions for preschoolers and early readers.

I'm a wife, mama of 2 beautiful littles (a girl and a boy), creative, and I make my home in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada's most Eastern Province.

I love to connect and collaborate with readers, other bloggers and makers.

My favourite place is at home, curled up with a mug of tea and my favourite people.
