A Handmade Home

This week is bittersweet.
We are in the process of moving to a new home - a wonderful home, that we are really excited about. It's a time of new beginnings, but we are also leaving behind our first home, one with many memories of our first 10 years together, including engagement, marriage and our beautiful little girl.

The happiest part of this move is that we get to bring along the elements that really MAKE our home.  i wanted to share a few of these elements with you today, amid our packing and moving.

NJ's room was lovingly created and filled with many handmade items.  I keep her bedroom carefully edited.  It isn't cluttered, everything has a place.  I feel very peaceful in this room.

There are handmade quilts and blankets, some handmade toys.

I'm slowly editing our new home to have more of a handmade and locally purchased focus.  Our pottery mugs from the Northwest Territories (a wedding gift), pieces by local artists on the wall (and some of my own photography).  I'm trying to cut back on quantity and focus on quality.

It brings me a sense of calm and joy.  What inspires your home and creativity?
