Handmade Marathon - Day #24 (SNUGGLY UGGLY)

Editor's Note:

Welcome to DAY TWENTY FOUR of the Handmade Marathon.

I just love seeing products made from repurposed materials and SNUGGLY UGGLY is doing just that.  These dolls are unique, creative and special.  What a beautiful gift for a special child in your life.

About SNUGGLY UGGLY:

Snuggly Ugly are collectable plush artwork and soft furnishings for the living room and children’s rooms, inspired by children. They are soft sculptures, not necessarily toys. Each SNUGGLY Ugly is an unique one-of-a-kind handmade monster made from quality repurposed cashmere sweaters which are carefully washed and dried.
I enjoy every aspect of my work, from designing to choosing and matching colors and working with materials making them come to life. I enjoy the process as much as the final product.

I believe handmade goods are an invaluable resource to incorporate into our daily lives while connecting us to each other in a personal way. These are more than just products, there is love, care, creativity and uniqueness involved.

I think we should come in contact with more handmade things in our daily lives, just the way things used to be, supporting the growing handmade movement. Repurposing used products sets a good example for future generations reducing the demand for new materials.

All my work is hand made in the USA. (My home in Brooklyn)

SNUGGLY UGLY: Making 'plush' environmentally considerate.
