DIY Washi Tape Wrap Address Labels

If you are getting married soon, or just love to make your mail PRETTY, this post is for you!

I simply cannot hide my love for the extremely versatile japanese washi tape.  I was recently brainstorming creative ways to use washi tape - and I think this idea of creating your own washi tape wrap-around address labels is kinf of unique (get ready while I take Pinterest by storm!)

Supplies:

(+) washi tape in color(s) of your choice
(+) blank envelopes
(+) a cutting mat and sharp craft blade
(+) small address labels + printer (or an address stamp if you have one in the right size)

Step 1: Cut strips of washi tape using a cutting mat and sharp craft blade (so that you get nice, clean lines).  The tape length will vary depending on your envelope, but it should be long enough to wrap around approximately 1/3 of the front of the envelope and 2/3 of the back of the envelope (see photos below).

Step 2: Measure the width of your washi tape and pruchase small printer-friendly mailing or address labels at your local office supplies store.  Create mailing labels with your return address (OR use plain pre-printed return address labels, OR use a return-address stamp in a cooresponding size)

Step 3: Stick the return address label to the washi tape and VOILA! Pretty washi tape wrap-around address labels.

Readers have been asking me where they can purchase washi tape.  Local readers can check out The Paperie (in St. John's, NL) for their washi tape supplies. There is also a FABULOUS selection of washi tape available through the Canadian online shop Omiyage.

Do you have your own creative idea for using washi tape? I'd love to hear from you, please share in the comments below!
